Mission and Purpose

Section 1. The purposes of FIG are:

a. To partner with parents, teachers and staff to provide students with access and exposure to technology, the arts, science, math and reading. 

b. To raise funds and coordinate events for SSFAA and FIG for the benefit and development of the students.

c. All events and fundraising efforts to benefit students set by the basic policies set forth in Article IV.

Section 2. The organization is organized exclusively for the charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding section of any future federal tax code (hereinafter referred to as “Internal Revenue Code”).

SSFAA  Family Involvement Group Standing Committees

 

Membership & Events Committee

Purpose: To organize & run the membership drive, Family Fun Nights (2), Teacher Appreciation Week. Assist school with Career Week, Parent Workshops, Science Fair & competitions. Manages FIG Calendar of Events in accordance with SSFAA Calendar.

     Activities

1. Membership Drive- ends December 14, 2011

5. Kids’ Field Day June 2012

Finance & Fundraising Committee

Purpose: To create, organize & manage fundraising events Butterbraid, Book Fairs (2) & Annual Luncheon.

Business & Policy Committee

Grants & Development Committee

Purpose:  To obtain grants to support SSFAA & FIG education & development efforts.
